Pumpkins

Our farm has been blessed with a variety of soils, one of them being the heavy clay loam soil that is best for pumpkin production. Strong stems, deep orange color and thick meaty walls are all qualities of our pumpkins. We grow not only the sweet pie pumpkins, but also smooth painting pumpkins, decorative pumpkins, and the fall favorite Jack-O-Lantern pumpkins.

Prep and Storage

  • Select sugar or pie pumpkins that are firm and heavy for their size.
  • A medium sized (4lb) pumpkin should yield around 1 1/2 cups of mashed pumpkin
  • Sugar pumpkins can be stored in a cool, dry, dark place for 30-90 days. Unheated garages work well in Minnesota for pumpkin storage.
